At the end of September was realized the first international meeting of Erasmus+ project Colourful numbers in Zlín. The hosting school was Gymnázium a Jazyková škola s právem státní jazykové zkoušky Zlín.
This meeting had started on 27th September. Students and teachers from Italy, Poland, Romania, Turkey, and Czech Republic worked together on the topics “Innovative methods of teaching” and “Math and nature”. Apart from this work they will visit interesting places and they discover the beauty of Moravia regions.
Due the complications of Covid-19 situation were done some of the tasks online at the end of May 2021. Students had prepared and presented their presentations about their country, region, city, and school. These presentations were presented by students online in the Microsoft Teams platform.
First day was marked by school sightseeing tour, art workshop with the topic “Math and nature” and “Symmetry in nature” for the students. This workshop was prepared by Czech teachers Petr Faron and Tereza Barinkova. For teachers was prepared workshop with the topic “Innovative methods of teaching”, which was taught by Jaromir Svetlik from the National Pedagogical Institute of the Czech Republic.
On Tuesday students and teachers visited the ZOO Zlín Lešná. The main topic of this excursion was numbers – students had tried to find interesting numbers from the world of animals. In the afternoon program continued by the sightseeing tour in Zlín. This tour was prepared by students from Zlín’s school.
First of two bigger trips of this meeting was the excursion to the science centre Vida in Brno. Students could see and try the exhibits from the area of biology, chemistry, physics, math, and logic. Employees of the science centre had prepared for our students the program with topic “Plasma” which was aimed at physics, but physics is the subject, which is very close to math.
The target of second trip was in the Beskydy mountains – Pustevny and Radhost. At first, we were visited the Wallachian walkway in the sky, then we have continued by small walking trip to Radegast statue. In the afternoon was prepared the closing ceremony, where all students and teachers had obtained certificates of attendance at this international mobility.
Last day was program only in the morning. Students and teachers could visit classes at Czech school and in the afternoon, they had got free time for sightseeing city and shopping some souvenirs.
Our project will continue by the meeting in Romania at the end of November.
